Barsenet Adefris (Barsu), born in 2004, is a self- taught artist living in Switzerland. She discovered her interest and passion for art at a very young age. Through a series of trials, she found her way to oil painting. Her works are inspired by African realities and human figures. Within her paintings, the viewer is transported to a world where faith, beauty and human experience come together in harmony.
“My biggest inspiration comes from God. My desire is to inspire others by visualizing my thoughts and including God’s word in my paintings. Human figures are the best way for me to express myself and what gives my art meaning is the interplay of faith and the wonderful diversity of black human beings.”
